Sun McColgin
About the artist
Sun McColgin current series of sculptures is a metaphor for the fragility of what we often take for granted as being solid and indestructible. Much like a single drop of water finds its way into the smallest crevice of a rock and freezes – slowly the crack grows until the rock shears away. Over time, the once monolithic rock becomes something new and beautiful. In my work I recreate this process, celebrating the passage of time, lost memories and the promise of what will be shaped by the unseen forces of the future.
